The forethought of the Echo Collection began while looking at an old photo ~~ “have you ever listened for the echo in the lotus blossoms?” How can I do that? Can I photograph an echo? Being an adventurous soul, I let that voice lead me to the garden, into the meditative presence that seems to effect others in the same way. These magnificent blooms born from mud cause me to pause. Each one of them had an individual voice. A silent strength. A silent light. A silent beauty. Yet each reverberated with purpose and I found myself going from one side of the pond to the other then back again to make sure I didn’t miss any of the luminous conversation. A sense of listening gripped my soul. At the finish of creating these, I witnessed the collection’s character and palette grow from pinks into misty blues, greens, blush and even a neutral light — surprising me….delighting my soul. I can imagine them in many settings, from a wall in a home to a wellness-centered interior or pages in an ad. These works can be scaled, paired, or repeated to suit a variety of environments.
