Abstract art holds a special place in my heart because it makes room for an impulsive creative vibe. Similar to dancing with a new partner, unrehearsed visions enter my mind; while simultaneously flowing through my heart merging photography, texture and color.

Poppies appear to be swept by the wind in this series of artworks. Each began as a single photograph taken in my garden.

Windswept I: Ember and Air

Windswept III: Whisperfall

Windswept II: Golden Drift

When the name Moonbird came to mind, I found myself wondering if that was an actual word. Unbeknownst to me, I learned that Moonbird is, indeed, a real bird.

Phillip Hoose wrote a book titled Moonbird: A Year on the Wind of the Great Survivor B95. The book is about the life of a Red Knot Rufa tagged with B95 on its leg. In honor of Phillip's book, I added B95 to my Moonbird.
